Dr Angela Morris
BA Hull, MA Essex, PhD Essex, PGCE Oxford Brookes
Angela joined the Wroxton faculty as tutor in history and social policy in 1995, initially as tutor-in-residence, but now lives locally with her husband and son. A graduate of the University of Hull, Angela received her M.A. and Ph.D. from the University of Essex. Her doctoral research examined the Labour party and electoral reform in Britain, and both Labour history and issues connected to the electoral system are amongst her favourite subjects to teach at the college.
Understanding the past can help us make sense of the present and help to shape our future. Where we have been explains where we are as a nation today. For Angela, history isn’t just about Monarchs and great battles (although both are fascinating!) but why we have faith-based schools; why we have a National Health Service; our response to immigration and why we are a democracy. For Angela, grasping a subject or simply discovering a topic you never knew about before can be intellectually and emotionally rewarding.
